DR SIOBHAN GRAHAM founder of Vitalis HEalth

Dr Siobhan Graham, originally from Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, began her medical studies in Queen’s University in 1995. She opened Vitalis Health in April 2019 to offer a more holistic approach to patient care.

Her own family upbringing influenced her interest in medicine from a young age; her mother ran a GP clinic in Cookstown and she is deeply involved in the care of her brother, Christopher, who has Down Syndrome.

As a qualified yoga instructor and sports injury clinician Siobhan weaves the value of movement and mindfulness into her consultations, along with benefits of individualised nutrition.

After graduating in medicine from Queens University in Belfast in July 2000 she started work as a junior doctor in Belfast City Hospital where she established her love for medicine.

From Belfast to Australia,-with a short stint in Gautemala-then New Zealand to Scotland, Dr. Graham spent seven years gaining a wide range of experience in general medicine- from Rheumatology, Cardiology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, oncology, and paediatrics- before completing her GP training in Edinburgh in 2008.

While working with her brother as a GP she maintained her love of hospital medicine by also running the cardiology Chest Pain clinic in Whiteabbey hospital where she worked for almost three years part-time.

Her love of sports and how exercise improves health, lead her to study Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bath from 2010 to 2016. During this time she continued work as a GP and but returned to work as a Staff Grade doctor in rheumatology (the specialty for disease of joints, muscle and the immune systems) spending almost three years in this field.

During these years Dr. Graham also worked as a travelling team doctor for some of the Northern Ireland football teams and did voluntary work providing exercise classes and nutrition talks to local communities in Costa Rica in Central America..

In 2016 she gained a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine and carried out research into the effects of exercise in women with rheumatoid arthritis while working in Musgrave park hospital as a Staff Grade doctor in Rheumatology.

DR TIM RUSSELL

Dr Russell joined Vitalis Health in 2021 brining his experience as an NHS GP and personal interest in Lifestyle medicine to the clinic.

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 2000. After working in various hospital specialties in England, New Zealand and Scotland, he qualified as a GP in 2006.

Dr Russell has worked as a National Health Service GP in Northern Ireland since moving here with his family in 2010 as well as working in the private sector since 2018.

Dr Tim has a diploma in lifestyle Medicine from the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. As an extension of this he has a particular interest in treating disease through lifestyle modification, especially in areas where psychological problems, such as stress, contribute towards physical problems such as high blood pressure, headaches, fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

He is also skilled in performing joint injections and has a lot of experience dealing with difficult to manage eczema and dermatitis.

 

Dr Marjorie Quinlan

Dr Quinlan is an experienced GP with a specialist interest in women’s health and Menopause.

Graduating with distinction from Queens University Belfast in 2002, she worked in various medical specialties in Belfast, Sydney and Dublin - gaining a wide range of experience before completing her GP training in London.

Dr Quinlan worked as a GP in London for five years before moving back to Belfast to accommodate her growing family.
Whilst in London, she developed a specialist interest and expertise in women’s health with a focus on contraception and the menopause. She is a member of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health and is an experienced coil and implant fitter.

Dr Quinlan is passionate about listening to and collaborating with patients to maximise their quality of life and is particularly motivated to improve the care and support available to women in their reproductive and post-menopausal years.

Dr Quinlan believes deeply in empowering patients to be experts in their own care and in her role as a Communication Skills tutor at Queens University Belfast,  teaches medical students how to communicate with patients in an effective and empathetic way.

She is mum to three boys and when not at work, she can be found at the side of a sports pitch, practising yoga or reading a book.


 

Dr Rory McKeown

Dr McKeown graduated from the University of Dundee in 2007. 

He completed his doctor foundation years in Northern Ireland, before travelling to Australia where he worked for almost 6 years gaining a lot of experince in the field of emergency medicine.

During this time he worked primarily in Emergency medicine but also trained in anaesthetics, Intensive care medicine, and remote and rural medicine (in the Solomon Islands)

Dr McKeown returned to Northern Ireland in 2016, and completed his GP training in 2019, completing training in Psychiatry, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 

He is a well rounded doctor attentive to his physical examination while listening to his patients.

He enjoys an active lifestyle, and believes in preventative medicine through lifestyle modification and in the doctor as a support during this health journey.  He also has an interest in minor op’s removing moles and cysts.


Dr Ryan Murray

Dr Murray graduated from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2011. He has spent time working in most medical specialities throughout his career to date, completing his MRCP physician training in 2016, bringing with him a wide-ranging and strong medical knowledge.

Dr Murray also worked as a speciality doctor in the field of acute and general internal medicine for two years, as well as spending time as an immunology and allergy registrar, before switching to the world of General Practice in 2022.

Dr Murray has always been driven to improve the standards of care that can be provided for his patients, reflected in previous roles as a member on the BMA Northern Ireland Junior Doctors Committee and BMA Specialist, Associate Specialist and Specialty Doctors committee. He has additionally worked as a Quality Improvement Lead within SEHSCT, a Quality Improvement Mentor for NHSCT, a member of HSCQI Communities of Practice, all of which are platforms allowing opportunities to try to positively impact on our local healthcare.

Dr Murray describes his role as one of service; to listen, to care and to serve his patients. He strives to ensure each patient receives the quality of care and attention one would hope and expect for their family.

Dr Murray has open minded approach to medicine and recognises the vital role a holistic approach to medicine plays. He is particularly interested in the emerging role of the gut microbiome and the world of allergic disease. He also is competent at joint injections.

In his spare time, Dr Murray appreciates time with his family, playing chess, going to the gym, practising yoga and partaking in any sports opportunities he can avail of.

TINA FEGAN

Tina has been working as a phlebotomist in Vitalis since May 2021, taking bloods, and doing Wellness checks. She is also trained in ear wax removal both syringing and suctioning and continues to expand upon her skill set as a natural learner.

She worked for 25 years as a practice manager in a GP Surgery in Belfast and brings this experience to the team.

"There are so many things I love about working here. It's a friendly relaxed environment, with a brilliant supportive team. I love building a rapport with the patients when they come in for their bloods."


 

Anne McGale

Anne has worked as a Practice nurse nurse in the local community for the last 39 years. She is also a freelance facilitator delivering workshops across Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Experienced working with all age groups and with individuals with a variety of different health conditions Anne has completed a certificate, diploma and degree in health promotion and values the importance of sharing health education within the community.

Menopause Wellbeing NI has delivered workshops in menopause awareness, stress management and health programmes to many organisations such Allstate,  Translink, Concentrix, Northern Ireland Electricity, Inspire, Ulster University, Omagh Council and PHA and adoption and fostering carers and women’s groups in the community such as NIRWN.

Having dealt with her own menopause, Anne found the experience frustrating and confusing and she realised that there was a lack of readily available evidence-based information out there on the menopause and how to manage the symptoms.

 

Shannon Steed

Since joining Vitalis Health as receptionist, Shannon has taken on the role of office manager along with one day on reception.

Shannon has worked for 10 years in the medical industry, as both a therapist and clinic manager bringing lots of administrative experience to Vitalis Health! 

Shannon will be the friendly face you meet at our reception desk, to welcome you to the clinic and will also be on our emails to answer any questions you may have.


Heather Bowers

Heather has worked for many years in a local medical clinic, attending to client needs on arrival and generally making sure the client/patient experience is seamless.

She has a beautiful calming and caring nature and will make your welcome at Vitalis Health a warm one!
